May: John， do you know if there's something wrong with Cathy?
John: What do you mean?
May: I happened to see her in the hallway on my way to visit you today， but she walked right by
as if she didn't see me. She seemed really uptight. What's up with her?
John: Oh， never mind. She got promoted to manager last week and
it seems like she's too big for her breeches right now.
May: Really? That's great. She's been working very hard lately. That's a good reward for her.
John: Yeah， I'm happy for her too， but she has this kind of cocky attitude since she has become a manager.
I don't care for that much. I think she needs someone to make her realize that she's not that important.

May: 내가 오늘 자기 만나러 갔다가 복도에서 우연히 만났는데， 날 못 본 것처럼 지나치던걸.
굉장히 근엄해 보이더라고. 무슨 일이야?
John: 아휴， 신경 쓰지 마. 지난 주에 관리자로 승진됐는데， 자기가 뭐라도 된 줄 안다니까.
May: 정말? 잘 됐네. 최근 들어 정말 열심히 일했잖아. 좋은 보상이 됐겠어.
John: 그래， 나도 잘 됐다고 생각해. 하지만 관리자가 되고 나서 좀 잘난 척을 해? 난 그런 건 별로 안 좋아해.
내 생각에는 누가 한 번 나서서 캐시가 그렇게 대단한 사람이 아니란 걸 깨닫게 해 줘야 될 것 같아.
May: 자기야， 그러지 마. 한 동안은 좀 뻐길 수도 있지 뭐. |
